Commercialism - A Perpetual Wheel of Discontent
The commercial systems of this world have one singular focus: getting you to spend your money. With the advent of credit, we can now spend money that we don't even have. Debt is often unavoidable, but not entirely. We might need to take out a car loan, but do we "NEED" to buy a $30,000 car? Won't a 14 or 15 thousand dollar car suffice?
As long as we are content with our needs, we can avoid a lot of unnecessary grief. But maintaining a simple eye can be hard when the commercials on TV are always trying to convince us that what we have is not good enough. A materialistic lifestyle only leads to futility. Do not let others make you feel unhappy with what you have (or don't have). Remember that material possessions cannot bring lasting fulfillment in our lives. If you do not try to equate "who" you are with "what" you have, then you will find life to be much more satisfying.
